Then this happened at work. I was surprised to find a surprised face looking back at me!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cleaning a warehouse might not be glamorous but it gives me peace and quiet, also moments like this photo. Mostly it gives me time to think. Most of my life I&#8217;ve been cleaning for work. I&#8217;ve tried a couple different jobs in my day but always came back to the safe choice. I&#8217;ve always asked myself &#8220;Why?&#8221; knowing deep down I craved something more. Haven&#8217;t we all had this thought pass? And with each New Year the goals we set and watch fly by can be a bummer. Trying new things can be scary!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most writers say they have always known they wanted to be a writer. Not me. Most writers say they have always loved reading. Not me. I don&#8217;t fit the mold of a writer. It truly never crossed my mind till I stepped in Blue Gum! Yep. BLUE GUM. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seven years ago, Thanks to someone&#8230;.their gum was left on the main walkway of a company I cleaned for. This blue gum got everywhere! Multiple people have stepped in it, joylessly sharing the blue gum to various parts of carpet throughout the whole store. I spent most of my day chasing after getting this gum gone! I cuss to myself to the point my weird mind makes a rime about this blue gum, then a poem&#8230; Boredom can kill but imagination stepped in and saved the day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The poem was mainly full of cuss words. Surprised was I, it sparked a deep secret I forgot I had as a kid. At age 15 I wanted to publish a poem in one of those chicken noodle soup books. Weird how that popped into my head while scrapping gum off the floor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For rest of the day I was thinking about poems again. Maybe I should put together a book of my poems? The next day I was mopping the main entrance, thinking about yesterdays blue gum and what it sparked in me. If only I had a better title idea for a book of poems lead to &#8230;&#8221;Why not write a book too?&#8221; I loved old movies and I loved hearing stories. A story captures my attention more than the poem idea. Writing a story might be fun?  (If I only knew writing a book wasn&#8217;t gonna be easy.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks Blue Gum!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This blog isn&#8217;t just going to be about writing or painting. I hope it sparks a dream. We should all look at the small things in the mist of dirt in our minds.
